The Department of Biotechnology at Dr. Ghanshyam Singh Mahavidyalaya has been a center of academic excellence since its establishment in 2011. The department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to provide strong theoretical knowledge along with practical exposure in diverse areas of biotechnology.

The curriculum is comprehensive and multidisciplinary, covering key subjects such as Industrial Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Food Biotechnology, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Immunology, Biochemistry, Nanobiotechnology, Microbial Technology, Plant Biotechnology, and Animal Biotechnology. These courses are designed to equip students with both foundational knowledge and advanced skills relevant to academia, research, and industry.
Since its inception, the department has successfully produced more than 1000 graduates who are now contributing to various sectors, including well-reputed startups, biotechnology industries, and research organizations. Many students have demonstrated academic excellence by qualifying in competitive examinations such as CSIR-NET and GATE, and have secured admissions in prestigious institutions including central universities, CSIR laboratories, BHU, IIT Delhi, and other renowned institutes.
