Vision
The Department of Biotechnology envisions becoming a globally recognized center of excellence in teaching, research, and innovation that nurtures scientific curiosity and advances the frontiers of biological sciences. The department aims to develop a vibrant academic environment where cutting-edge research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovationdriven learning converge to address critical challenges in human health, agriculture, food security, industrial biotechnology, and environmental sustainability.
It aspires to produce highly skilled graduates, researchers, and professionals who are not only technically competent but also ethically responsible, socially conscious, and capable of contributing to national and global development. Mission
1. To impart comprehensive and high-quality education in biotechnology by integrating fundamental biological sciences with advanced technological and computational approaches, ensuring strong conceptual understanding and practical competence among students.
2. To promote excellence in research and innovation by encouraging faculty and students to engage in multidisciplinary and cutting-edge research areas such as nanobiotechnology, microbial technology, environmental biotechnology, food biotechnology, bioinformatics, and molecular biology.
3. To develop skilled human resources capable of addressing real-world biological, industrial, agricultural, and environmental challenges through hands-on laboratory training, project-based learning, internships, and industrial exposure.
4. To strengthen industry-academia collaborations by establishing partnerships with research institutions, industries, and healthcare organizations for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and enhanced employability opportunities.
