SOCIOLOGY
The Department of Sociology is dedicated to the Study of society, social relationships, human behaviour, Culture and social institutions. The Department aims to develop student’s understanding of social structure, Social change and Contemporary social issues through academic lessening, research, and field based Social activities.
The Department provides quality education in Sociology through both theoretical and Practical approaches in accordance with University and NEP Guidelines, It encourages Students to analyse social problems such as Poverty, inequality, gender, discrimination, unemployment Casteism and Social change with a Scientific and humanistic perspective. To promote holistic development, the department regularly organizes Seminars, Workshops, Guest lectures, Surveys, field visits, group and Discussions, awareness programme and research activities.
Students are encouraged to participate in academic Cultural and community-based Programmes to develop Leadership, Communication, Teamwork and social responsibility.The Department also focuses on personality development, Critical thinking and research skills to enable students Can Contribute meaningfully to Society, education, administration, social walik and Policy making.
