About Us

Inspired by the views of the Honorable Dr. Ghanshyam Singh (Former Vice President, Faculty of Science, U.P. College, Varanasi) who was a deeply knowledgeable, disciplined, talented, and humble person, his son Shri Nageshwar Singh laid the foundation stone of Dr. Ghanshyam Singh Mahavidyalaya in 1999 for the purpose of converting his incomplete dreams of providing quality education to the mass. As per norms of the department of higher education UP Government we got affiliation from VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur for conducting the courses B.A. and B. Sc. (BZC and PMC). Meanwhile due to uncertainty of VBS Purvanchal University’s jurisdiction and the status of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi being raised to an affiliating university by government of UP, the college therefore got its affiliation from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi. Since then, the college has continued being progressive in the field of education.
