The Department of Education at Dr. Ghanshyam Singh Mahavidyalaya stands as a premier and highly dynamic center of excellence, research, and skill-oriented learning in the field of teacher education. The institution began its journey in teacher training with the introduction of the B.Ed. programme in 2005, initially offering 100 seats, which has since expanded with an addition of 10 EWS (Economically Weaker Section) seats, bringing the current capacity to 110 seats. Recognizing the growing need for advanced pedagogical research and higher education, the M.Ed. programme was established in 2016 with an initial intake of 50 seats. This has also been augmented by 5 EWS seats, making the current total 55 seats. All our programmes are conducted in strict adherence to the regulatory standards and guidelines set by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), ensuring top-tier academic quality and professional integrity.
The curriculum is meticulously designed and implemented in alignment with NCTE and University guidelines, creating a multidisciplinary, flexible, and skill-based learning environment. The department boasts an exceptional academic and professional faculty that goes beyond standard classroom instruction. To ensure holistic development, the faculty regularly organizes high-impact seminars, specialized skill-building workshops, and insightful sessions delivered by eminent invited teachers.
