EDUCATION
The Department of Education under the Faculty of Humanities at Dr. Ghanshyam Singh Mahavidyalaya, Soyepur Lalpur Varanasi is an important academic unit dedicated to the study of the theoretical and practical aspects of education. The department was established in 2013 with the introduction of Education as a subject at both undergraduate (B.A.) and Later, in 2017, the postgraduate (M.A.) programme in Education was further strengthened and expanded. The main objective of the department is to develop competent, skilled, and value-oriented educators and to provide students with a deep understanding of the philosophical, psychological, and sociological foundations of education. The teaching–learning process in the department includes lectures, seminars, group discussions, project work, and the use of ICT-based teaching methods to enhance student learning. The department also encourages students to engage in research and pursue higher education.
It is supported by essential academic facilities such as classrooms, a library, and teaching-learning resources. Being a part of the Faculty of Humanities, the department helps students understand education in a broader social context and prepares them for careers in teaching, research, and educational administration. Thus, the Department of Education plays a significant role in promoting quality education and contributing to the overall academic development of the institution.
